Total international visitor arrivals in Africa increased by 51% year-on-year, but remained 69% below pre-pandemic levels; Total international visitor arrivals in the Asia-Pacific region increased by 44% year-on-year, but 93% below pre-pandemic levels.

As of March 24, 12 countries and regions have fully opened up to international travel, and an increasing number of international destinations have eased or lifted travel restrictions for international tourists, which will help increase tourists’ confidence in international travel. In addition, the United Nations World Tourism Organization pointed out that issues such as rising oil prices, inflation, unstable world situation, and changes in the global COVID-19 epidemic situation will bring challenges to the recovery of international tourism.
