An ambitious statement of intent

On January 4, 2023, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled the emirate’s “D33” new economic agenda. This forward-looking move is Dubai’s vision for its future leadership.

The “D33” agenda includes the launch of innovative projects – innovative ways to drive sustainable economic growth to double GDP by 2033 and make Dubai the fastest, safest and most connected city in the world.

To achieve these goals, Dubai will accelerate growth through investments in the areas of manpower development and advanced technology. Dubai will also focus on consolidating its global competitiveness, fostering innovation and fostering a knowledge-based economy. With its strategic location and cutting-edge infrastructure, Dubai will create the best business environment for domestic and international investors, attracting companies and talent from the UAE and around the world.

By becoming a global leader in the digital economy, Dubai has been at the forefront of innovation and economic growth. In addition, the agenda clearly defines Dubai’s vision of becoming a major global economic hub by prioritizing the promotion of sustainable practices and economic diversification.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai) said: “2033 marks the 200th anniversary of Dubai: the year Dubai will become the most important global business hub and complete the Dubai Economic Agenda 2033. ”

Key priorities for the next decade

The agenda focuses on key priorities for the next decade, including increasing value added in the industrial sector and promoting export growth, with corresponding efforts to achieve a sustainable, diversified and productive economy. Other priorities include establishing Dubai as one of the world’s five leading logistics hubs and one of the world’s four largest financial centres.

In addition, D33 aims to integrate the UAE’s emerging generation into the private sector, establishing Dubai as a hub for skilled workers, the most attractive global business hub, and an international hub for multinationals and local SMEs.

One of the main objectives of the “D33” agenda is to make Dubai one of the top three international tourism and business destinations by creating a globally competitive business environment and reducing business costs. The D33 agenda aims to enhance Dubai’s position as a fast-growing and attractive business hub, providing world-class quality of life and the highest level of security and safety for Dubai’s citizens and residents.

“Dubai is in a new phase of rapid growth. As a hub for global trade, business and innovation, and a magnet for talent and investment, Dubai is poised to write a new chapter of success.
